Practical answers without delaying the test.
A key does not light up. Is it broken?
Not necessarily. Try the key in another browser and application. Shortcuts, settings, drivers, wireless interference, debris or hardware damage can affect the result.
Can I test a laptop keyboard or numeric keypad?
Yes. Choose the physical form that matches your keyboard. The tester changes which positions count as required.
Why can’t KeyTest detect Fn or Power?
Many laptops process Fn, Power, brightness and some media keys before the browser receives them. Their absence here does not prove a fault.
Does KeyTest record what I type?
No. Testing happens in this browser; only your selected layout and keyboard form are saved locally.
